Logging equipment stolen from Huu-ay-aht territory

Kechika is a logging firm contracted to do some harvesting in the Sugsaw area in timber that Western Forest Products won the tendered bid from Huu-ay-aht First Nations Forestry LP.

At the end of last week, they had two chainsaws stolen from their operation. A big haul back block (pulley), used on their grapple yarder, was also stolen.

The theft has been reported to the police, and they are encouraging anyone who might have seen something suspicious to come forward.

The estimated value of the haul back block is $2,000 and $500 each for the two chainsaws.
