EVAN RONALD COOK, traditional name Thlaa-aapkwistaa-a was raised in Kildonan, Dodgers Cove, and Bamfield. Evan’s late grandparents were Herbert Cook and Frances Moses, and his late parents were Wilfred Dennis (Shorty) and Agnes Dennis. 

Evan started his career in the Logging Industry, Fishing Industry and Trucking Industry. This was followed by being an entrepreneur, owning a National Trucking Company and International Shipping company. 

Evan has enjoyed the last four years participating on the Economic Development Committee and then as chair when elected in to Council in the 2022 By-Election. Evan was re-elected for Council in the 2023 election and now holds the finance portfolio.

Throughout his involved with Huu-ay-aht, Evan also sat on the HFN Group of Businesses Board and was part of the announcement for the Microtel partnership between Tseshaht and HGB, and the purchase of TimbreTiles partnership with HGB.

Evan looks forward to his term as Executive Council member and being a representative for Huu-ay-aht First Nations.
