Edward Johnson Jr. found in arts sačktuup for change

This digital story was written by Edward Johnson Jr. and narrated by Dr. Heather Castleden, Queen’s University Research Chair. Edward tells how art was one of the tools (sačktuup) that made him overcome the barriers imposed by dyslexia, early in his life.

He proposes to leave trauma behind and find some light in the horizon. “Listening to other people’s stories, even the ones that had a negative impact on them, fueled my fire to compose art. Art is a way to heal our people.”
