Hike to Higher Ground: Tsunami Preparedness

TSUNAMI SIREN WILL SOUND AT 11:30 AM, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16 Join us on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11:30 am when we Hike to High Ground!
Practice evacuating to our designated gathering places then join us at the East Firehall for community lunch and learn about tsunami and emergency preparedness.
Event Activities:
Tsunami siren will sound at 11:30 am
West Side
11:30 am: Residents hike from their home to West side Firehall and check in, then head over to the East Bamfield Firehall for emergency preparedness tips and a Community lunch.
East Side
11:30 am: Residents and Bamfield Community School students will hike to the East
Bamfield FireHall.
12:00 pm: Learn about tsunami and emergency preparedness and a Community lunch ($10/plate) fundraising for the Community School Greenhouse Project.
Anacla Residents
11:30 am: Siren will sound and a mock evacuation to the House of Huu-ay-aht, then head over to the East Bamfield Firehall for a Community Lunch and preparedness tips. Transportation provided via the school bus.
