Maa-nulth Incremental Community-based Economic Fishery 2025 suuhaa (Chinook Salmon)
Huu-ay-aht First Nations is excited to announce the Maa-nulth First Nations were successful in accessing a commercial fisheries opportunity for Maa-nulth Treaty Citizens under the Me Too Agreement negotiations with DFO. What this currently means is Huu-ay-aht First Nations will have an opportunity for 6 Huu-ay-aht citizen fishers to fish in the Area G Troll Fishery starting August 16, 2025 until September 2025 (end date depends on Interior Fraser River Steelhead Window closure or when total catch is reached) as part of a “pilot” fishery.
