I would like to know if we as the Huu ay aht will ever get the new style status cards, from the laminated old kind. As they tend to come apart after being handled on a regular basis. When I signed up at VIU College they made my student card with picture within five minutes and its a solid plastic card with all the necessary information on it and seems more durable then what we have now.

ƛuł ma n̓aas (tluthl ma naas, Good day!)

The citizenship cards that we issue are similar to what you suggest. The Status Cards are Canadian Government issued and we can
only, at this time, do the laminated cards. In the future, we are hoping to have the training, then clearance to do the new secure cards
which are like the ones referenced in your inquiry.

Elected Chief Councillor Robert Dennis Sr. Dear Robert, we are hoping the HFN could nominate someone to interact with Bamfield at the monthly Bamfield Community Affairs meetings (third Monday of each month). Earlier, Charlie Clappis was the representative. Thank you for your consideration. Regards, Louis, co-chair BCFS

Please don’t exploit the un-touched west coast with a LNG terminal and tanker traffic. Stewardship of the natural resource much needed on earth at this time. Thank you.
