Bivalve Shellfish: Marine Biotoxin – Update

Christine Gruman, Manager of Natural Resource and Trade, and other members of staff have been monitoring the Bivalve Shellfish Marine Biotoxin Updates through Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO). For now, Area 23-4 (where Numukamis and Sarita Bay are located) and nearby Areas 23-5 and 23-3, are all still open. Anyone planning to harvest locally should check for updates immediately prior to doing so either online at http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/contamination/biotox/index-eng.html or by calling Natural Resources and Trade Staff in the Anacla Office.
