$1000 REWARD FOR INFORMATION REGARDING STOLEN HALIBUT

On April 11, 2013 the Port Alberni RCMP received a report of stolen “Food Fish” from the Huu-ay-aht First Nations. The theft occurred sometime between April 3 to 9, 2013.

Police attended the scene and it was determined that approximately 1000 lbs of Halibut was stolen from the House of Huu-ay-aht in Anacla, near Bamfield. The halibut was stored in approximately 300 clear vacuum packed freezer bags and the bags were labelled “Cabela’s”.

If anyone has any information with regards to this theft contact the Port Alberni RCMP (250.723.2424) or Alberni Valley Crime Stoppers (1-800-222-8477). A reward of $1,000 is being offered by Huu-ay-aht First Nations for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
